My Loser Cats

Happy September! Where, the frick, did August go? I was vibing, and it was the eleventh. Today I get the notification that it’s September and now I’m dazed. Although, I have a lot of stories for everyone this month! So stay tuned, today we’re starting with my bastard cats.

The Story

Feeding time is fun with my cats. Sometimes, I’m like five whole minutes late to dinner time, and they decide it’s time to literally EAT THE BAG to get to their food. They’re definitely not starving, just the worst all of the time. Well, this was becoming a problem with food going stale and them just getting to their food when they shouldn’t. The big babies are a little overweight, so we’re trying to get them on a good schedule. This sparked an idea, a plastic container. My roommate and I worked out every option we could.

We both have ADHD, and being able to see into the container was a make or break for this. Plus, I want it to hold an whole bag of food so I have less stuff in my kitchen. Walking through Walmart with my dad, we passed the storage containers and I found a really nice one for ten dollars. Nothing fancy, just a standard plastic storage box. And a total fluke, I didn’t measure or even really think about volume, but it holds the whole food bag no problem!

Getting home with my new bucket for cat food, there’s some stuff you should do with new containers. I run a nice hot “bath” for the new container because people are gross. After a soak and another general wash with dish soap, a really good rinse. Dish soap is not something I want my cats eating by accident. And then I filled the container, giving both cats a little bit of extra food. I was playing with their food bag after all. After everything, the food is moved and my roommate and I both know when we need to get more cat food.

The Aftermath

My fuuuuuuuucking cats. The container is working great! They can’t break into it, and it’s sitting there doing a very good job. Of course, now that they can’t just chew through it, I don’t get to be late for food anymore. Shadow likes to let me know it’s food time by biting my eyebrows (with love) if I’m asleep, or my knee’s if I’m at my computer. Percy, the lovely boy, decides that my head is a great pillow, and will crush me while meowing. Or, run up and down the hallway, looking at me, yelling. Cats... But yeah, it works great!

The Post Credits Scene

I love my kids to bits, but they’re actually demons. That an, it’s pumpkin season! That’s it, that’s September. Anyway, thanks for coming by today. I hope you have a safe and wonderful day!

My First Few Days

New job, same old house. In case you didn’t know, I got a “work from home” job working for a new telecommunications company. In the grand scheme of telecommunications, I moved from Bell to Rogers. Work desk lives pretty much behind my computer desk. Cramped doesn’t quite cover how this room is right now, but that’s alright. With said new job, this has been my first few days.

Dad and I went back to plant land

Day One is Always Fun

First day, starting off strong with a woodpecker on my roof. Bastard bird… I love woodpeckers, they’re cute and are honestly one of the better birds. But this dickhead, is on my roof. Roof ain’t good for bird. They’re endangered, so no harm must come to this bird. I must be creative in getting this feathered friend to leave. Apparently a plastic owl or even a pie plate on my roof can scare it off. Only thing is, I don’t want to scare the other birds too. Plus, my house is like, the bird sanctuary of the neighbourhood. I’ve got to get super freaking creative…

Oh, I guess I also had my first shift. First day was a good day! Met my “class” and learned how to play with the computer system Linux a little. Otherwise, work is work.

Onto the Real Learning

Day two has its own spice. We all introduce ourselves and spend hours learning about the company. I’ve worked some shitty jobs before, but the overall environment from this job so far is very, comfy. Feeling safe and like I can actually talk to people is amazing. Talks of inclusivity and helping our community are also very large topics for today. I’m lowkey really into this job..

Other than work, Percy is also an issue lately. The past little while he’s been sitting by the front door meowing for hours at a time, and like, I love him. But after only a few hours of sleep and he’s just whining at the door for about an hour makes me want to die. (Not really, but it sucks.) *As of the moment of writing this, Shadow almost died… Bastard tipped over a water glass and killed the power to half my trailer. So that’s cool… Poor baby, didn’t even know what happened.

Best shot I’ve got of her yet

This job is going to be a big part of my life for probably a long time, which means my streaming schedule is going to change. I’ll be trying to stream in the morning, starting between seven and eight, and going until about ten. Don’t worry, I’m still around. That and with a new job, and warmer weather, I’ll be blogging more too! So stay tuned for blog updates!

Drenched war horse

But Yeah

Life is fun right now. I know this is coming out at a weird time of day, but work and Shadow, it’s been a busy day. I appreciate everything from everyone, and I hope you have an amazing day!

I Can Leave My House

Holy frick, I am HYPED! I’ve been stuck at home for two weeks and can finally get out! My dad and I went to go grocery shopping and I feel so good now! I never thought not being able to leave home would have been that boring. The first time we went on lockdown, I at least got to go hiking and such, but being contagious and a danger is a whole other thing. You know, I say boring, but there were only a couple days where I got bored, otherwise I had enough I could do around the house. I started working out, my house is super clean, and I have my computer set up 95% built!

Shadow is so cute

I’m Writing This On Tuesday

This morning I’m back to work. Up at 4:30am is the worst, but I’m happy that I can even go back at all. I loved being home with my pets and my roommate, but it’s time. I was making jokes to my dad (who is also my boss) that I was going to “lay down the law” and make sure everyone working here follow the rules to a tee. Being here again, I’m just glad they remember me. Honestly, just being able to go somewhere that isn’t home is super great!

Being able to leave my place once in awhile really changes my mood. Something like that would have blown younger me away. But then again, so would working out, eating better, and learning to stream. By the way, keep an eye out for me possibly streaming! I’ll link everything once it’s up and going!

I’m just so thankful I wasn’t alone. My three fuzzy babies and my amazing wife. Over those few weeks also my dad and her dad both got us groceries. Since we couldn’t work, that helped so much. Considering the shite situation, I felt really good over those weeks. But, getting out is definitely exciting! And I’m grateful I can keep doing it for the foreseeable future!

Fuzzy babies are best babies

Thanks for coming by today, or I guess technically tomorrow as I’m writing this on Tuesday. But, be safe and have an amazing day!

Apps I Have Paid For

Spending money on apps is dumb. At least, on Android phones. There’s an app for you to essentially answer questions for Google and they give you credit to their stores, whether Google Play, Google Play Movies (I rented a lot of movies when I wasn’t paying for things like Prime Video), and in game app purchases. I got this app back when I had just started in my old job and the phone store, and it changed my app game.

Since then, I’ve either spent all my credit on Pokeballs in Pokemon Go, or bought an app or two. The actual credit you get isn’t a lot, but living here in the Okanagan, when I can actually go downtown, I tend to get a few bucks (dollars) every time I go out for the day.

We Put Midna’s crate up, and Shadow moved in

As For Apps I’ve Bought

Moon Phases are something I like to watch. I was using this app for a couple years before I bought it. The UI shows you the part in the moon cycle we’re in, when the moon and sun both rise, and the weather mostly. And there’s even a “golden hour” and “blue hour” section for photographers out there. I have my notifications turned on so I know the full moon cycles every time they happen.

Rain Noises for peace, focus, and to help me sleep sometimes. Being able to customize whether I want only rain, some thunder, where I am and where the rain is, MMM! I love it. This app has been with me since I first got a cell phone back in high school. Thunder and rain has always been super peaceful for me.

Minecraft is well, Minecraft. Yes I own this game on like, four different platforms, but I didn’t technically have to pay for it. Plus it connects to the computer version, so I’m able to play with friends of mine while out and about. (To a certain extent, it only works on Wi-Fi). But yeah, I own it on my phone too.

Don’t Starve was a game that I picked up after it went viral on YouTube, only to fall in love with it and own three different versions of it now. This is a game that I can 100% get lost in, even by myself (since this is the single player version). I played this a lot riding the bus when my headphones were in for repair. I’m not very good, but I do enjoy it.

I Haven’t Bought A Lot Of Apps

But there’s definitely a few. Most of my credit went to movies and Pokeballs for sure. Wow, I just went a looked, and I’ve made over $180 since I started. I bought way too many pokeballs dude... As far as I’m aware, it only works for stuff like that, but that’s honestly fine for me, it fits my lifestyle. That and it’s hard to find apps worth buying.

Thanks for coming with me today! Be safe out there, and we’ll talk soon!
