Errands and Homework

Advertisements

I have jobs to do today, starting with errands, my roommate has lost a part of her piercing. I have to go downtown and see if I can get some cute replacements for her. I don’t buy jewelry often, so let’s see how this goes.

That’s really it for errands though, but since I have to make a trip out of it, I’ll be busy for a couple hours. I may also actually apply to be a batista at the cute nerd cafe in town. She may not need one, but it wouldn’t hurt to try. I don’t need a job, I’m just kind of, bored? I think? Maybe just feeling stuck...

As for homework, for those who don’t know, my Tuesday job is dispatching cabs. We have a system for quotes and estimates, which is super out of date. My job for today is to hopefully rebuild it. If not, I’ll have to work on it tomorrow too.

I’m also mad hyperfocused on writing my novel right now. I’ve almost completely redone my first draft and have plans for a full series. So hopefully I can put more work into that today. I haven’t written this much in awhile, so I’m not gonna stop myself.

Today’s weather is supposed to be cooler with a hint of rain, which I think is perfect for writing in. So we’ll see what I get done today! But for right now, that’s all I’ve got. Stay safe, and check me out on both Twitter and Instagram for updates on life, and behind the scenes stuff!

It Is Too Hot

Advertisements

Seriously, it’s too hot. It’s supposed to hit like 35° again today. That’s day four-ish of about seven-ish, I’ve lost count, of stupidly hot out. I love summer, being outside at the beach is great. Normally I spend more time in the water than at home, but it’s difficult to get there. When it gets to this temperature, I just want to sleep.

The past few days, I’ve been relaxing in air conditioning while doing literally anything besides boiling. With hiding inside, I’ve been super productive though! My bedroom has been rearranged, and my kitchen is much cleaner than it was. Plus I’ve got this blanket I’m making, and I’ve started on the second ball of wool now! I’m excited!

The strangest thing is Saturday is the first of August. Summer feels like it’s been almost non-existent this year. I’m almost at the point I can start posting Halloween memes on social media again and my friends won’t remind me it’s “only July”. Mind you, I’ll get that in August too. But yeah, July is almost over!

There’s only one air conditioning unit currently set up in my place, so I’m going to get the second one into place today I think. I don’t imagine August being colder than July. And I’m sure the pets would appreciate the colder house with their fur coats.

I’m mostly just rambling my thoughts together for today. But other than this, I don’t actually have much to talk about today. It’s hard to go out and do anything when it’s so hot out. Supposedly Monday and Tuesday it drops to under 30° for the first time in awhile. That temperature I can deal with. I can get to the beach and not worry as much about heat stroke along the way.

Thanks for stopping by for my rambles today. I appreciate you all! Stay safe out there! Thanks for reading!

One Summer Afternoon

Advertisements

Holy frick it got hot quick! Out of nowhere we got hit with 35° weather… I vividly remember sharing things on Facebook with captions such as “we aren’t allowed to complain about summer,” and I am trying but holy crap man. It’s so hot…

I spent Wednesday afternoon just sitting with a friend of mine, talking about life and having a drink. I don’t know what made that so special, but I just had a stellar time. And it was one hundred percent better than being in the sun.

The high for today is only 29° which is a lot nicer that yesterday and the day before, but I really just want it to be autumn again. A season where I can sit under a cute tree and read for hours. I really enjoy fashion in the cooler months too, just because sweaters are the best!

It’s not even August yet, so the worst of the heat isn’t here yet, but I’m honestly ready for it to be over. Although, I haven’t had the opportunity to spend much time at the beach. I’ve got to do that more first. I have a tan line I want to fix from my backpack strap.

Anybody else as excited as I am for cooler weather? The pictures for this post are from my hike up Rose Valley, for those curious. Anyway, thanks for reading!

Revisiting Myra Canyon

Advertisements

Now that it’s July, most places that had snow no longer do, so we decided to hit up Myra Canyon again. During the warmer months, there’s bike rentals up there. The trail itself goes all the way to Penticton I believe. The views too, man they’re just as breathtaking as they were a few months ago! I think we walked about ten kilometres this time too. Remember last time?

I swear the roommate is a Disney Princess

I haven’t got much to say about it this time. It was just so beautiful seeing it in two very different seasons! Thanks for stopping by for this short post. You’re amazing!

We Have Kangaroos

Advertisements

I know right? Kelowna has a Kangaroo Farm? What?! Way out by Kelowna International Airport, or YLW, is the farm, and my god that is the most magical place I’ve been to in awhile! I say kangaroos, but there’s a lot of different animals living there now, and the open space for everyone felt welcoming.

Massive sign right at the front

When you first enter the farm, area, thing, you find their right side pasture first. The lovely staff made sure everyone was aware, the kangaroos on that side didn’t want to be pet that day and to make sure no one was running around. Turkeys, smaller birds, a snake, some tortoises, a porcupine and an emu all lived out in that area. I think that was all of them, and I don’t know birds well enough to know what we were looking at... A couple days ago we had a few new cases pop up in the Downtown area, so no one was allowed to hold the snake. I get it though.

They’re still young, I think the person there said five years old… I think?

From there, the kangaroos that were feeling social side of the farm was next. That side had ducks, chickens, lots of kangaroos, and a separate enclosure for goats. Those poor goats, they eat everything so strollers aren’t allowed in there. I love kangaroos, don’t get me wrong, but chickens and goats are just, the best! I have such a soft spot for them, I can’t explain it. OH and I almost forgot about the capybaras, such peaceful creatures, hiding in the shade.

Can’t believe I almost forgot them! They’re so cute!

I love the goats, I got up and pet them and followed them around, like I love goats! I want one, or five, and I just, they’re great! One day I’m going to have one, it’s going to happen.

Roommate feeding Violet. This one was the only one we got the name of.

Feeding kangaroos, almost stealing a goat, watching an emu get a bath, and the peacock I almost forgot who wouldn’t open his tail were just some of the amazing things I got to do. I’m so glad we went and on such a nice day too!

Goat! I love them!

But that’s all I’ve got for today! Thanks for stopping by! Be safe out there!
