Chatting Over Dinner

Advertisements

Last night a friend and I went and got dinner so we could reconnect. She’s taking time off work for mental health, so we took the evening to compare stories, and even relationships. She’s been with her partner for just over two years now. And all of my relationships have a habit of ending before the two year mark, which isn’t a bad thing. They were meant to end when they did, although some could have ended sooner...

We play cards together, and before this virus hit, we were really the only women in the group. Being that way, her and I bonded pretty quick, and she’s always been there since. When it comes to female friends, I only have a few. The few I do have, I hold onto very tight. Precious quality time with the ladies is important to me. There are just some things you can’t talk to anyone else about. Or is that just me?

I’ve grown so attached to Midna, I can’t believe it sometimes

Dating with mental illness is weird. Both of us have depression, although she definitely suffers from it more. She’s an absolute sweetie and deserves all of the best things in the world. Depending on who you talk to, they would say the same for me… That’s a weird realization... ADHD has got me the weirdest reactions from people though. I don’t think before I do anything, which sometimes can lead me into some trouble. I’ve made real progress in dealing with that, but I can always improve. Plus I have a trash memory, which helps with nothing ever.

Percy is the cutest when he sleeps!

In case you’re curious, only a piece of the conversation was devoted to “in the bedroom”. Man did she ask me tons of questions, holy frick. Not that I don’t want to answer most of the time, but dang she had questions. Oh crap it’s time to publish! Guess that’s all I have for today! Thanks for stopping by, and have a good day!

Making Up For Lost Time

Advertisements

Over the past few years I went through a lot, and with that, I missed a lot. I loved sitting on my couch and catching up on the newest TV shows and movies. Dating someone long term who takes something like that away from you, well, all I can say is I’m never doing that again. Since I have some free time again, I’ve been catching up. TV shows mostly are what I’m trying to get ahead of right now. With working being quiet, which happens too often, I’ve been doing some light bingeing.

I am a HUGE Supernatural fan. Great show, fantastic, amazing, I love it, and now I’m finishing it. Starting where I left off, season thirteen, I only have two more seasons before the show is just over. After that I’m thinking the Haunting of Bly Manor. Oh man I am so excited! The boyfriend is letting me use his Disney+ as well, so maybe I’ll pick up something on there too.

Yo, The Boys is awesome! We picked that up since we’re caught up on The Mandalorian. The concept is amazing and I don’t think I’ll ever watch a superhero movie the same ever again. Definitely graphic though, there’s a scene I actually just couldn’t watch and had to be told it was safe again. The premise of corporately owned superheroes is just brilliant, and people die so violently, it’s an adventure every episode.

Actually turning Supernatural on again, I’m realizing I should start from the beginning again. There’s quite a lot that just doesn’t him home as hard anymore. Don’t get me wrong, it’s still an amazing show, but I really need to devote a weekend to just rewatching it. I’ll probably cry a whole bunch if I do that though…

Monday, when I got home, dad wanted to watch New Mutants. I thought it was going to be a TV show, but apparently not. I went in expecting a more adult themed X-Men style of show, with more blood and swearing kind of thing, but holy frick. The movie was intense and had an amazing tie to Native American mythology. More movies, or spinoffs? like this should get made! The odd scene had some scares, but is still totally worth watching!

Eventually here, the boyfriend and I are going to watch Breaking Bad too I think. That show has a good amount of seasons, so that’ll keep us busy for sure! As for now, that’s all I’ve been watching. And that’s all I have for today! Thanks for stopping by, and be safe out there!

The Best Few Days

Advertisements

I spent a few days with friends and family, not paying attention to social media or the world really, and enjoying the company for my birthday. I stayed with the boyfriend for a couple days to start everything off. Most of our weekend was watching TV, which I’ll have a separate post for, but it’s more than that. Homemade meals, quality time, and getting overly spoiled, I had a great weekend. Turning twenty-three was so special! Before I met up with him, my lovely roommate had to spoil me first.

Boyfriend took this picture, and yes I totally am using it

Starting with my lovely wife*, we got home from work about 6:30ish. *I call my roommate my wife. It’s a thing we’ve been doing forever now. Presents, a new hair colour and some needed bonding started my weekend off strong. I’m currently a red head with a new Little Mermaid backpack to match! Mind you the hair was a last minute “we should do this” kind of thing. There was more with the backpack, but that’s for me. From there, my dad offered to drive me to the boyfriends place since it’s getting cold and snowing now.

He made an amazing dinner! Chicken stuffed with .. fancy cheese, ham, and some other goodies (I honestly forgot everything that he used) and wrapped in prosciutto with veggies and pasta! Dang, thinking back I was, well am, so spoiled! I should have taken a picture of it! From there, caught up on the Mandalorian. We’ve started The Boys now too, and I have a new headset and microphone to use! The comfort of spending time with someone who enjoys my company and makes me feel safe is just, amazing. I’m a sap, I know, but he’s just, the best! Oh, and I had a frittata which is super yummy. I will never get tired of his cooking.

Outside my window this morning

Getting home Monday, since I stayed there for two days, my dad and I spent some time together. And now I can make my own London Fog’s too which is cool. They’re my favourite latte, and he got me a milk frother. I spend an unholy amount of money on them, especially working next to a Tim Hortons. Milk, vanilla syrup, earl grey tea and a bit of water makes the most amazing drink ever! We also got to see New Mutants which is an interesting movie. I’ll write more on that later.

My great friend Will took this one. England is less snowy than here

I’m not the kind of person who needs a lot for holidays or birthdays, the experiences and time spent with the people I care about is the best part of my life. I can’t thank the people around me enough for being there. Since I didn’t post yesterday, expect that tomorrow! Updates from The Mandalorian, The Boys, New Mutants and gaming! Those kitty headphones from Razer I loved are now mine! I spent a good hour making them glow pink too! Pictures of my setup will go live eventually. But, that’s all I have for today, thanks for stopping by! Be safe and warm out there if you live near me!

Halloween in 2020

Advertisements

I have to work today. Guess who’s going in full costume!! Spoiler, it’s me! Oh I am so excited! Spirit Halloween is a great store that I spent way too much money at this year. I’ve got vampire fangs, a full pirate costume, and an inflated ego all ready to go. My boots are 100% impractical, and this waist belt thing is putting in WORK! I’m living for it.

Dad wants breakfast, so first stop is there. Man, this hat is massive! Every time I think about my hat I start laughing. I’m so excited! The lovely people there loved my costume. I’m supposed to “YAARRR” each person I talk to apparently. My dad wants me to report back on that, but I don’t think I will. Just sounds like it’ll kill my voice…

Now that I’m at work, I’ve stuck my nametag to my coat. I lowkey look dorky, but I feel awesome in this costume. I also forgot my fangs at home, although I talk better without them, and I work in sales. Being able to talk (or I guess communicate) is kind of my job. So far, work is quiet. I’m sitting here watching YouTube videos, writing this. Tonight is where the excitement will be. I’m having both my boyfriend and the roommates boyfriend over for scary movies!

There’s a rock in my boot… The highlight of my day so far has been trying to fish that out without taking the boot off. Oh, wait, maybe a customer? Or they’re headed to Tim Horton’s... Nope, not my customer. At this rate, I’ll catch up on all the YouTube I have yet to watch. Well, it’s only noon, so we’ll see.

Three in the afternoon and still not a whole lot. One real customer and I know him so…

I had two customers today. And one made me almost cry. Super not into that, but what do you do? Anyway, time to stop at the grocery store, grab the last few things we need, and then party! I mean, as much of a party as watching scary movies and drinking pop goes.

First movie, Candyman. Tony Todd is a great actor and I’m surprised I’ve never seen that movie before. An interesting concept and THE BEES! All around, good movie.

Second movie of the night, Night of the Living Dead. More Tony Todd I know, and a good idea. I got to show the roommate why I made the “solid doors” joke. All around, good time.

Last movie for us, As Above, So Below. What an interesting movie! Roommate’s boyfriend recommended it and my god what a good idea! It was like, creepy, suspenseful and I hadn’t seen it, so I needed a protection shoulder to hide behind. Scary movies are great! Only thing, I had to look the ending up because it seemed to, happy? Yeah, that’s probably the best way to describe it. All around good movie though and I’m glad it was recommended!

That’s it though, I’m tired. No kids came around but that’s probably a good thing. Thanks for coming with me! Talk soon!
