October Dates to Remember

Happy first day of Halloween! Can you believe it’s already October? Oh I am so excited! After work today, if I have the time, I want to go to the dollar store just in the other plaza and look for cute fall / Halloween decorations. I’m not the largest sweets fan, so I won’t be raiding the grocery stores for snacks. Besides Halloween, this month is going to be busy.

First on the list in the roommates birthday. She reads my blog, so I can’t talk about what I have planned until after we do it. I love everything about her and she’s the best roommate I’ve ever had. I’m going to make sure Sunday, which is when we’re celebrating her birthday, is the best day she’s ever had. I’ll make sure to put up pictures too, just because I’m going to show off how great she is.

Next on my list is my brothers birthday. The kid is twenty one this year. We live in Canada, so that birthday isn’t the big birthday, but I still want to make sure he has a good day. He’s a huge gamer, so I have a few idea’s on presents, but I really want to find something special, so I’ve been creeping Etsy and Amazon’s handmade section looking for something. Monster Hunter and One Piece are his favourite both game and anime, so that’s what I’m searching for.

Last on my list is my dad’s birthday. My dad is amazing and I like to share just how much he does for his kids. That dick also reads this though, so I’ll have to treat his birthday the same as my roommates. He’s made his “what to get me” list difficult this year, so I’ve had to get creative.

Yes, I am 100% reusing this

There’s quite a few things I’m also waiting for in the mail for everyone, as I can almost plan things properly. After everything, HALLOWEEN!! Oh I am so excited! October is a great month, and I cannot wait to spoil the people around me! But, that’s all I’ve got for today. I hope you have an awesome day, and be safe out there! Oh and, here’s what was going on a year ago today too!

I Waited

Last year, I was posting on August 15th about how I was excited for Autumn. Now, granted I did kind of mention it recently on and off again, especially through memes, I’m making that post today. Am I going to use the same meme today as I did last year? If I can find it… Do I know it’s not even September yet? Hush, it doesn’t matter. Michaels is already having sales on Autumn and Halloween decor, and I have already bought some, so to me, it’s basically October.

I found the meme!

To prepare for the best season, I’ve bought jeans, tights, and boots for the aesthetic. Well, that and we redid my hair so I’m brunette again. Leaves changing colour, pumpkins finally making pumpkins, and with my lovely roommate and I are going to have the biggest Halloween party ever! In all actuality it’ll be like four people at most and maybe a board game or two. She wasn’t born in Canada, so this year is half her life in this beautiful country. I want to spoil her a bit, but her birthday comes first, so we’ll see. As of today, there’s sixty-seven more days until Halloween!

We were playing with Midna’s nose

Come the colder months, I’ll be able to go hiking more too. Without the 30° – 40° heat, I can actually go outside and not died, which is cool. I’m also going to swim more, and hopefully get some more use out of my rock climbing shoes. Going to have a lot of fun this winter! There’s a fantastic ski resort outside of town, Big White, and I happen to live with a skier, so I may been going up there a bit this year too.

My poor kid never stood a chance

Work has been slow the past few weeks, and I’m getting bored. With all my free time, I’ve been putting more work into my creative writing, so keep your eyes peeled for updates on that! That and a lot of Fall Guys, I don’t understand why that game is so great, but I’ve got way too much time into that game already. Oh hey, back on Halloween, I want to get my pets some costumes! I’ll share those if I do!

Anyway, that’s all I have for today. Have a great one and stay safe out there! Love y’all!

One Summer Afternoon

Advertisements

Holy frick it got hot quick! Out of nowhere we got hit with 35° weather… I vividly remember sharing things on Facebook with captions such as “we aren’t allowed to complain about summer,” and I am trying but holy crap man. It’s so hot…

I spent Wednesday afternoon just sitting with a friend of mine, talking about life and having a drink. I don’t know what made that so special, but I just had a stellar time. And it was one hundred percent better than being in the sun.

The high for today is only 29° which is a lot nicer that yesterday and the day before, but I really just want it to be autumn again. A season where I can sit under a cute tree and read for hours. I really enjoy fashion in the cooler months too, just because sweaters are the best!

It’s not even August yet, so the worst of the heat isn’t here yet, but I’m honestly ready for it to be over. Although, I haven’t had the opportunity to spend much time at the beach. I’ve got to do that more first. I have a tan line I want to fix from my backpack strap.

Anybody else as excited as I am for cooler weather? The pictures for this post are from my hike up Rose Valley, for those curious. Anyway, thanks for reading!

More Tuesday Tips!

Guess who caught a cold! I was sick over the weekend and let me tell you, I was literally useless for most of it, which sucks complete and utter ass. So for today, I wanted to compile all of my “get well soon” tricks. I spend a lot and I mean a lot of time on the internet, but sometimes “Dr. Google” just isn’t the way to go, ya know?

Do You Drink Tea?
Cause I do! All the damn time! And tea is a gift from the heavens let me tell you. Even if you’re not drinking it to “get better quick”, it’s like, 99.9% water. Which means you’re staying hydrated! And that’s exciting! Can you tell I had some cough medicine?
There are particular teas that are going to help more than others for sure, however I suck and hate them all. So I have been drinking earl grey and just adding stuff to it. Cinnamon makes me feel better so that’s usually my go to, although mint teas work wonders.

Own A Tub?
Holy snap, taking a bath! Now if you’re like me, sitting in the tub is boring. That just means we need to spice it up, right? I am a sucker for candles and bubbles. So naturally I light way too many candles and throw a bath bomb or some bubble bath in. Sitting and relaxing helps your body relax, which helps you get better just that little bit faster. You don’t really notice how being sick makes your whole body hurt and feel exhausted. The candles make amazing mood lighting which isn’t overwhelming to your eyes, and since you probably can’t smell, the insane amount of candles won’t ruin your day. I’m not lying when I say I light too many candles. The bath bombs and bubble bath are purely there to keep me wanting to sit in the tub.

Don’t Type Your Symptoms Into Google
Google is not a doctor. Please do yourself, and literally everyone else, a favour, if you’re scared that something is wrong GO SEE A REAL DOCTOR! They’re there to help.

Be Better Than Me And Remember To Eat
I woke up yesterday morning feeling a bit better, and starving since I forgot to eat for a whole day. Food is good for you. Your body needs to have energy to help you get better. Please remember to eat <3

Be Kind To Yourself
Remember to rest, take a day off work to heal. Catch up on a movie and relax. Your body needs time to do its thing. You matter, don’t forget that.

And That’s What I’ve Got
My advice only goes so far. But that’s what this is; advice. Don’t use this over a doctors medical opinion please. PLEASE. Against my cold, these tips have really helped me survive. That and Benadryl when I just cannot sleep. If you’re sick too, may you get better soon and are able to get back to your normal lifestyle.

On A Side Note
Happy first day of spooky season! I wish I wasn’t starting October off sick, but here we are.

Time to get SPOOKY

Anyway…

Yay for September!

I am so excited! Autumn is so close and it’s almost time to pull out the leggings and sweaters! Leaves start changing colour, air crisps up, I’m so happy!

“That time of year thou mayst in me behold
When yellow leaves, or none, or few, do hang
Upon those boughs which shake against the cold,
Bare ruin’d choirs where late the sweet birds sang.
In me thou seest the twilight of such day
As after sunset fadeth in the west,
Which by and by black night doth take away,
Death’s second self, that seals up all in rest.
In me thou seest the glowing of such fire
That on the ashes of his youth doth lie,
As the death-bed whereon it must expire,
Consum’d by that which it was nourished by.
This thou perceiv’st which makes thy love more strong,
To love that well which thou must leave ere long.”
— A poem by William Shakespeare

The atmosphere following the winds calm my soul. Sunlight softens and the temperature relaxes, in case you can’t tell, I’m hyped. Tis the season I can show off my tea collection and look normal. I’ve got to remember to buy loads of hot chocolate this year.

Lively closeup of falling autumn leaves with vibrant backlight from the sun

Oranges, reds and browns decorating every corner of parks and craft stores. I’m so happy that autumn is here. I’m going to make sure to share all the fun stuff I do, which is actually nothing ever, if not here then on my Twitter or Instagram. Anyways…
