You’d think with me calling around and checking out prices and whatnot that I would be somewhat knowledgeable with this renovation shit. But no, alas, I know literally nothing apparently. A wonderful and amazing friend of mine actually just bought a condo, so she’s been enlightening me on the whole thing. Today, I’m heading to Home Depot to look at cabinets. So, there’s that I guess.
Remember when I covered my counters in contact paper? I’ve discovered paint for counter tops is actually reasonable in the pricing world. Painting is also fun, so I’m down to do that and rip the contact paper up. When I put it all down the first time, I really should have been more diligent. Ehh, you live and you learn.
November second is when a door person is coming by. Right at eight in the morning I should start to find out what that will run me. The door frame itself is going to be replaced, and then we can start actually looking at doors. Wood to fill in the frame is going to be the only cost friendly part of that I recon. I however signed up for this.

Home Depot has no cabinet displays right now as they’re renovating. That’s fine because I got a catalog. Cabinets man, they’re actually super stylish! My kitchen is a small space, so I’m thinking deep cabinets that are bright to make the room feel bigger and not compromise on storage space.
Or I could just redo the whole kitchen... Counters, cabinets and the floor in one go? I can do that!
I brought up buying a solid door for my lovely roommate, and my boss decided to educate me on how that’s weird. Most inside doors are hollow. I made the argument “zombies” and was again told I was wrong because the doors to the outside should be solid then. Well, fine. That makes sense. I don’t like it, but it does. Although that means I can save a few bucks. Hollow doors are quite a bit cheaper, and they make hollow ones with soundproof,
filling? insides? stuff inside.
Yesterday I was extremely stressed over this, but now that I’ve had some sleep I am ready to conquer this. But that’s all I have for today. Be safe and have a great day! Oh, and stay tuned for more renovation updates!
