I need to fix my place before I even consider selling it, and with that, I have made a list of things I need to fix.
Is that too repetitive, probably honestly. In this list, I’ll also be adding whether or not I’m doing it myself and how much roughly I’m looking at for pricing. Renovations are not fun anymore and I really just want to be done with it.
First big thing is the roommates room. I’ve been putting off actually looking for things like, an actual bedroom door, or even filling in a piece of her ceiling. Granted that is cosmetic, but it’s still something I want to do for making my place look like it’s worth more. I can fill a ceiling myself and I have everything to do that, I just have to do it. The door needs to happen, and I’ve been calling around looking into it, so far no one installs.
Which is ass...
Went and looked at some door prices just as a “what if” and found that HOLY FRICK doors are expensive. I want to have a solid door installed just for noise (Midna likes to bark) and zombie proofing.
I know zombies are not a realistic thing to worry about, but I watched Night of the Living Dead and you need a solid door. Maybe a barn door or French door could be installed even. No matter what, I have to wait and see.
Got a response, should hear back soon with actual pricing and whatnot!
My deck needs some TLC. Floor problems and open insolation are a huge problem if I want to sell. Aesthetics are a big thing with buying and selling homes, and in my current state I’m not getting any extra points. Work like this requires people who do trades for a living. I refuse to continue doing any more work myself. You know, it’s not that I refuse, I just hate it. Wow, I feel aggressive today, sorry about that. I got a little heated over this.
My kitchen is probably going to be the biggest job. Under the stove has a sunken spot in the floor and that kind of really sucks. Besides that, I have, or at least want, to redo that cabinets. 1970’s cabinets just did not age well and I need to update them. Rebuilding walls and cabinets are also going to take time. Revamping the place up will really bring up the value of this trailer though.
Otherwise, that’s really it for renovations. I’m confident that within the year I’ll have my place prettied up and ready to go on the market. No matter what, I’m going to fix my place up, not only for me and the possibility of selling, but also because I have found myself a long term roommate. This year is going to be my year, and there is nothing anyone can do to stop me. But yeah, that’s it for me! Be safe and have a great day!
