Garden Expansions

The other end of town has an amazing nursery that I occasionally give ungodly amounts of money to. Dad and I went recently and I bought some new additions to my vegetable problem. Lettuce, onions, tomatoes and some herbs again are all in need of homes around my property. Although I have a feeling I’m going to plant most of them in pots so I can bring them when I move.

So, it’s been a couple days and I’m worried I have become addicted to attempting to garden. I’ve bought in the past couple days way too many plants. Here’s the list;

A beautiful couple of flowers, left to right are a mini rose in a stunning soft purple, a petunia in a “starry night” pattern, a dahlia which is officially my favourite flower holy gosh, and this… Leaf? I don’t remember what he is and I lost his tag but frick what an awesome pattern!

Flowers!

Onto the herbs, I’ve got a mint, a dill and a bay leaf. They’re sweethearts and I’m excited!! I don’t eat bay leaf much, but it’s just cute. Mint and dill are always useful.

Like the dollar store pots?

Veggies are fun too! Lettuce, full yellow onions, tomatoes and cucumbers! I’m excited to have food of my own this year.

I’ve never grown cucumber before
Needed two pots for this dick
I love home grown lettuce!

I’m planning on growing the lettuce inside just because we eat a lot of it, and it’s not difficult. The cucumber can do what it likes outside, same with the tomato. But the onion I’m still not 100% what I’m doing with it yet. I know they grow downward, just like potatoes, so I may just leave it outside too, we’ll see.

Theoretically dahlias and mini roses can live inside with proper care all year long. Guess who’s going to attempt that? It’s me, I’m going to try, aren’t you excited? Although planting them together may not have been the best idea, we’ll see. Now that I know about the dahlia though, I’m going to decorate everything that needs flowers in dahlia’s.

The herbs are going to be in sunlight but hopefully not too much heat, they burn pretty easy and I’d feel bad if they died. Mint and dill are weeds, so they get to stay outside and isolated. I may even move them onto my deck so they can’t invade anything.

Everything looks so cute all planted and ready to live long happy lives! I’m slowly selling my soul to the idea of being a farmer more and more every day. But you know, there are worst things in the world. One day hopefully I get a full greenhouse, have too many plants, sell some home grown stuff at a farmers market, and be that person.

Almost everything I bought is here

Anyway, that’s all I have fore today. I know this post is long but I figured since I have nothing going on this weekend besides work that I’d leave you with some real content to read. Thanks for stopping by today! You’re awesome!
