Walking the two dogs is officially my favourite pastime. On Sunday we kidnapped the dogs and took them to the beach. Midna has never been off her leash while we’ve been walking before, at least since they moved in. So naturally, at the beach, I let her go swimming! The lake is too cold for me yet, so we just let the dogs play. Midna swims, it’s great. She just runs in and hops and stuff. I love watching her, she’s great. Taz on the other hand, he only goes in to his knees. He’s not into the whole swimming thing apparently.
The beach was rather busy on Sunday, we had to find a spot to let them run. There’s a nice little trail down by the beach with some breathtaking views. Okanagan lake is an amazing sight.
Monday we went out again, although my boyfriend had to work during the day. There is a massive trail in West Kelowna that starts at the top of a mountain and loops all the way around to the lake. You can however stay just on the mountain, which is what we did. There’s an old aqueduct up there, and trails that belong in an adventure movie. We spent like, three or so hours up there until my boyfriend got home from work.
After that, we doubled back, picked up our last party member and went to the beach again! Why not right?
Going to the beach this time, the roommate came along. The excitement on her face watching Midna hop into the water after a stick was the best thing! She was such a proud mum! By the time we go there, the sun wasn’t covering the beach anymore. Jumping in and out of the lake for a stick started to make Midna cold. We spent like, an hour, maybe two just playing with the dogs.
It’s currently nine in the morning on Tuesday, and Midna is still asleep from the adventures we went on. Poor pup, we had so much fun! Getting out there and seeing the world has been the best part of this quarantine for sure! With the weather mostly sunny and in the twenties for temperature, it’s a great time to be out there.
This whole walking thing is getting easier for sure. I feel like I’m not out of breath nearly as soon as I used to be. Don’t get me wrong, I’m still exhausted every time we go on these walks, but I feel good doing them. Plus, I really enjoy counting my steps. Samsung Health step tracker is super cool. I’m almost done the April challenge of one hundred thousand steps for the month. I’m so close, 98021 steps as of right now. The May challenge is literally double, so I have to prepare for that.
But yeah, that’s all I’ve got that for today. Thanks for stopping by! Stay safe out there!
