Every now and then I find a new book that I get way too invested in. Back in high school I found a set of zombie novels that I fell in love with called Day by Day Armageddon by J.L.Bourne. High school, being the point in my life where I was falling apart, I never got as invested as I wanted to. Going back to them now I remember just how much I love these novels. I ended up purchasing the first two, since there are three in the set, and finally sitting down to read them.
The first two are written in a diary style which at first I was skeptical about, but the author did a fantastic job keeping me on the edge of my seat. There were multiple times where I was freaking out with the main character over what was happening around him,
giving people around me a fright too, hoping he would make it and that they’d be safe. I’ve always had a soft spot for zombies and these novels really captured my heart and imagination. It’s not often a book can leave me in tears over characters but something about this journey, I’m always worried about them.
I haven’t had the chance to read the third one yet, but by how the amount of living people there are, I wouldn’t be surprised if the writing style changed a bit. I’m super excited to get to it though! I really can’t get over how good these are!
The author writes amazingly and conveys the fear and emotions flowing through the characters. I’m empathizing, crying and cheering on our main characters hoping they make it another day.
These books are amazing, I’m thrilled to have found them and even more happy to share them with you. And, I love zombies!! It’s not often I read through a book and a half in a day. But I sure am glad I did.
Thanks for reading!
